I left Tuscaloosa at 5:30 this morning. Dark, but nice drive until I got to Birmingham en route to Macon GA. There, the sky darkened and the gates of hell spewed out lightning and began dumping rain at a lions & hyenas pace. Traffic slowed down to 21mph, and even that was arguably too fast. Were it not for emergency flashers, I could barely make out the car next to me.
fortinately, the rain was merely rain when I stoped to charge at an EA plaza at the Walmart in Oxford AL. But still rain, and a reminder that most charging stations have zero overhead cover. Just because I can sit in my car or can go in the store does not mean I want to get soaked plugging my car in or getting in and out of my car. @ElectrifyAmerica, build overhead shelter!
