“Persistence Beats Resistance.” This is one of the mantras of successful salesmanship. And anyone who has been on the customer side of a buying decision knows it all too well. Whether it’s a new car, or a house, or any opportunity to separate your money from your wallet, once a salesperson knows you are a potential customer, they will rarely let go voluntarily. And the internet, and its toolkits, with their near-zero marginal costs have only amplified this. And now, with AI tools . . ..
The same is true for businesses on FB, IG, and Shopify. As a business, the moment you poke your head above ground, flocks of consultants and experts will swoop in to help you succeed. Their entrées and patter are remarkably similar, and it’s always easy to detect the latest wave or method.
Now, this is not a critique or diatribe against these folks. As near as I can tell, most are legitimately trying to build their own business. [NB however: the number one business on IG seems to be selling material to IGers that will reach them how to make money on IG selling “how to make money on IG” courses.] Instead, this is just a statement for this business, our business, that when we want to engage such services—and we have done so in the past, and will do so again—we will post an RFP on this blog, our IG feed, and our FB page requesting proposals for precisely what we need. Until then, please kindly respect our wishes when we say “we are not interested at this time.”
