(Not Just) Thursdays in the Kitchen: Salt & Vinegar Chicken Wings

I’ve made a lot of different chicken wing recipes, but I think this one may be my favorite. Chef Girlardee (gotta love it!) offers this recipe over on YouTube, and with the tiniest of tweaks, it’s pretty much full-blown keto.

ingredients

Chicken wings (buy the healthiest you can)

Apple Cider Vinegar (preferably Bragg)

Fresh ground salt

Fresh ground pepper

Kinder’s Caramelized Onion Butter Seasoning [my addition]

Arrowood Root [substitution for that nasty corn starch]

Olive Oil (sweet) or Coconut Oil

Recipe

  1. Marinade the chicken wings for at least an hour in the apple cider vinegar, preferably overnight. Drain and pat dry
  2. Season liberally with salt and pepper. Toss. Sprinkle with Arrowood Root powder (instead of corn starch). Again, toss. If you like them salty, toss some more salt in. Add the Kinder’s caramelized onion butter seasoning and toss again.
  3. Place in air fryer. In her video, Chef Girlardee cooked each batch at 390 for 25 minutes in her Ninja air fryer. In our Cosori, 20 minutes at 375 cooked them well and dried them out less. At the ten minute mark, shake the wings.
  4. When done, spray with the wings lightly with a sweet olive oil or coconut oil. Both work well, but the coconut oil sweetness adds something special.
  5. Back in the air fryer at 400 for 2-3 minutes. Remove and enjoy.
