Always Horizontal
This is my first time in Iceland. I’ve been here less than 48 hours, and I am struck by one thing in particular: as short as the days are, as late as the sun rises and as early as it sets, the remarkable thing about the light is that it is always horizontal. The sense of remoteness of the light is eerie, and it’s amazing how long the sun takes to rise. It’s a landscape photographer’s dream. That and the Icelandic horses everywhere.
